Behind the Scenes with Cuddly Pets & Rainbow Paws Rescue

Il Backstage di Coccolosi Pets & Rainbow Paws Rescue

The Invisible Work: The Backstage of Care

When we talk about saving animals, we often only imagine the most obvious moments: rescuing an injured cat, a puppy found on the street, a mother giving birth in a safe place.

But the truth is that much of this work happens behind the scenes.

I'm Silvia, and a significant part of my commitment is precisely this: the backstage of care. That silent work that allows everything else to exist.

Many people know about Coccolosi House, the place where some cats find shelter, care, and safety. Here we organize protected spaces for the most delicate rescues, for mothers who need to give birth, or for animals that need special attention.

But the work doesn't end within the walls of a house.

Every day we also follow several feeding stations in the city and communities, small support points for free-roaming cats and dogs. These are simple but fundamental places: bowls with nutritious food and fresh water, checked and refilled regularly.

These feeding points become real survival spaces for many animals that would otherwise have nothing.

Some of them learn to trust, others remain more distant. But day after day they recognize the presence, the constancy, the safety.

And it is often from these feeding stations that new stories emerge:
a sick cat that needs a vet, a pregnant mother looking for a safe place, a kitten that cannot make it alone.

My behind-the-scenes work also means organizing vet visits, managing medical expenses, coordinating aid, and finding solutions when emergencies arise suddenly.

It is a daily commitment made of small gestures repeated with constancy: preparing food, bringing fresh water, checking that everyone is well, updating those who support us, and finding new resources to continue.

To help support this commitment, I also created Coccolosi Pets, a project born from a love for animals. Part of the energy and work I dedicate to the shop also helps support the food, care, and needs of the animals we help.

It's not always easy.
But every time we see an animal getting better, a mother raising her young in safety, or a stray cat waiting calmly at its bowl… we know it's worth it.

Because often true change comes from what is not seen:
constancy, daily care, and the choice to be there, day after day.

This is our backstage.
And from here, many of the rescue stories we share begin. 🐾
